Welcome Aboard

Things are changing quickly in our world. Whole ways of life stand on the brink of disappearing as new technology and new ways of thinking replace them.

The Flood

A story is told of a man, many years ago who was also facing a time of great change. Everything he knew was about to be washed away in an almighty flood. His only chance of survival was to build a boat. A vessel to carry himself and a selection of all the animals. The boat carried him and those he loved above the deluge, coming to rest on a mountain from where they could start a new life.

Noahs Ark

It may sound a bit melodramatic. The things that are happening now may not be set to wipe us out. But there is no denying that there is a lot at stake. Whether your job is threatened by AI, your finances are threatened by rising cost of living and falling wages, your phone and email are swamped by scams and spam, or your nation's stability feels like it is being undermined by those whose values are different, the evidence is all around us. The things that we thought we could depend on are changing.

The Boat

The Boat is built, not from a place of fear, but from a desire for hope. A deeper trust in the human spirit. An belief that even in times of turmoil people with deeply held values can make a difference.

Meet Paul and Chloe

For over a decade we have been living a counter-cultural life. Swimming against the tide. Since 2019 we found ourselves, accidentally, living off-grid, with a young family. Many people tell us we are different. Some people think we're mad. Others want to be like us. It doesn't really matter what you think. Our story, like that of many others, is that you don't have to do the same old thing in the same old way. Sure, sometimes branching out its scary - if it wasn't more people would be doing it. The journey has not all been success stories. There are always things we must face into. But with less to tie you down, it's easier to flat above the waves.

Paul and Chloe

For those who are looking for a real boat, you may be in the wrong place. We don't have one, although let's never say never. What we do have is the joy of living a different life in a changing world, and the hope that others too can find freedom rather than fear in the uncertainty of the future.
